摘要:科幻电影与诗歌往往被认为是毫不相干甚至相互对立的。在近些年的国产科幻电影中,《宇宙探索编辑部》是一个独具诗意的范例,既在世俗层面上挑战了科幻电影,又通过诗意的表达实现了对科幻电影在文本和主题上的双重建构,从而拓展了科幻电影的边界和本土化创作的可能性。本文运用生活世界哲学探讨了该片的存在主义主题,并从电影诗、诗意思维、诗歌电影和中国诗学等理论视角,分析了影片中兼具科幻与诗意的表达,认为其不仅阐释和补足了科幻类型与科学理性本身的有限意义,还证明了科幻电影可以作为一种揭示在世存有的手段。

Abstract: Science fiction films and poetry are often assumed to be unrelated or even mutually opposed. Among Chinese science fiction films in recent years, Journey to the West is a uniquely poetic example. It offers a secular challenge to science fiction while simultaneously performing a dual construction of science fiction textually and thematically through poetic expressions– thereby expanding the genre boundaries and localized creation possibilities of science fiction films. This paper uses life-world philosophy to examine the film’s existential theme and analyzes the film’s science fiction poetic expressions through the theoretical perspectives of film poem, poetic thinking, poetry-film, and Chinese poetics, arguing that they illustrate and compensate for the limited meaning of the science fiction genre and scientific rationality itself, while exemplifying the ability of science fiction films to serve as a way of disclosing being-in-the-world.

Given that the question of existential meaning is a central theme of the film, this paper draws on the life-world philosophy, which consists primarily of the thought of Edmund Husserl and his follower, Martin Heidegger. More specifically, the paper illustrates how Journey to the West, as an attempt to combine local science fiction and poetry, exemplifies how science fiction films can offer a way of disclosing a state of being-in-the-world, and how poetry can break through the norms of the science fiction film genre and the limitations of modern scientific rationality.
01 Challenging Genre Boundaries
科幻电影的类型破格
《宇宙探索编辑部》是典型的科幻电影,不仅聚焦外星接触这一经典主题,还包含了科学怪人、太空服和宇宙飞船等诸多标志性科幻元素。然而,该片作为科幻作品的地位颇具争议,因为它同时融合了喜剧、公路片、冒险片和艺术片的元素,影片中缺少硬核科学理论和技术发明,也没有令人印象深刻的视觉特效。更重要的是,该片的世俗性引发了一种类型上的混淆。不过,若仔细审视,这种类型混淆恰恰说明科幻电影具有类型破格的可能性。
Journey to the West is typical of the science fiction film genre, adopting the classic themes of alien encounters and iconic elements such as science nerds, spacesuits, and spaceships. However, the film’s status as a work of science fiction is also controversial, given that it is also a mix of comedy, road movie, adventure film, and art cinema. The work lacks hardcore scientific theories and technological inventions and does not feature impressive visual effects. More importantly, the work’s secularity creates a sense of genre confusion. If examined carefully, however, this genre confusion illustrates how the category of science fiction film can be expanded.
02 Absurdity and Romance: Poetic Reconstruction
荒诞与浪漫:诗意的重构
2004年,在突破科幻电影类型范畴的过程中,影片同时在现实与虚构、世俗与理想、荒诞与严肃、务实与浪漫之间营造出鲜明的对比,以诗意张力的形式传递出强烈的美学冲击。
In the process of challenging the science fiction genre, the film simultaneously creates significant contrasts between the real and the fictional, the mundane and the ideal, the absurd and the serious, the practical and the romantic, delivering a potent aesthetic impact in the form of poetic tension.
例如,唐志军被塑造成一个失败小丑,但在这个小丑身上,我们能看到自己的影子。这个角色的真诚、严肃以及通过科幻诗学实现的世俗超越,重塑了角色身份,恢复了科幻感。
Tang, for instance, is portrayed as a clown, but in this clown we can see ourselves. The character’s sincerity, seriousness, and mundane transcendence through the poetics of science fiction rebuild the role identity and restore the sense of science fiction.
孙一通融合了不同的科幻设定,成为科幻与诗意之间的关键纽带。一般来说,科幻电影通常与诗歌并无关联,因为前者注重叙事逻辑,后者注重抒情表达。然而,《宇宙探索编辑部》将二者结合起来,创造出一种通过诗意表达来解读科幻内核的另类方法、风格和路径。
Sun, who brings together different science fiction settings, offers a linchpin between science fiction and the poetic. Generally speaking, science fiction films are usually not associated with poetry, in that the former focus on narrative logic and the latter on lyrical expression. However, Journey to the West combines the two, creating an alternative approach, style, and way of interpreting the core of science fiction through poetic expressions.
03 The Poetic Expressions of Science Fiction Film

从文本层面解读,可以说《宇宙探索编辑部》是一部独具诗意的科幻片。然而,影片如何在语言、形式风格和主题思想方面达其诗意,仍有待进一步探究。文章从电影诗、诗意思维和诗歌电影三种理论视角综合分析了影片的诗意表达。
From the textual level of interpretation, it can be argued that Journey to the West is a unique poetic science fiction film. However, what remains to be further explored is how the film expresses its poetics in terms of its language, formal style, and thematic ideas. Below, the poetic performance of Journey to the West is analyzed from these three theoretical perspectives of film poem, poetic thinking, and poetry-film.

04 As a Way of Disclosing: The Possibilities of Chinese Poetic Science Fiction Films
中国诗歌科幻电影:潜在的揭示手段
科幻在中国是舶来品,需要灵活地进行本土化融合与改造。作为一部成功的创新之作,《宇宙探索编辑部》至少在两个方面具有重要意义。首先,它是一部自觉的本土化作品,将本土创作置于类型规则之上,丰富了中国科幻电影的表现形式和创作可能。其次,它尝试将中国科幻电影与诗意表达相结合,在简约的现实主义与风格化之间的美学张力中捕捉科幻的核心。
Science fiction is an imported genre in China that requires flexible local integration and adaptation. As a successful work of innovation, Journey to the West is important in at least two ways. First, it is a self-consciously localized work that prioritizes local creation over genre statutes and enriches the presentation and creative possibilities of Chinese science fiction films. Second, it is an attempt to integrate Chinese science fiction films with poetic expressions, capturing the core of science fiction in an aesthetic tension between realistic simplicity and stylization.
